Everybody has a story...

And I want to tell it. I cover a wide range of topics, including local news, environmental issues, outdoor adventure, social justice, health and wellness, culture, business, and design. I love a good personality profile. I'm a sucker for deep-dive human interest pieces. And I bring a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to all writing and editing projects. 

Magazine journalism is at the heart of my career, which spans senior and contributing editor roles at two of the country's most distinguished big-city/regional magazines (Denver's 5280 and Chicago); business and contract editor roles at Outside Business Journal (under the Outside, Inc. umbrella) and Boston magazine, respectively; freelancing for major publications including Condé Nast Traveler, OutsideOnline, Delta Sky, The Denver Post, and Time Out, among others; reporting on critical environmental and social justice issues for nonprofits such as Global Greengrants Fund, American Rivers, and Great Outdoors Colorado; and, as managing digital editor, spearheading the editorial content of EpicLifeMag.com, the Webby-honored former digital storytelling platform for mountain lifestyle behemoth Vail Resorts. 

Recently, I contributed a cover story and feature, respectively, to the issues that earned Denver's city magazine (5280) the "Excellence in Writing" and "Best General Interest Ancillary" awards from the City and Regional Magazine Association (CRMA). My 2024 story about Colorado’s pandemic-induced drinking and the resulting liver disease crisis in our state earned first place in the Health News category for Large Newsrooms at the Society of Professional Journalists “Top of the Rockies” Excellence in Journalism Awards—a regional multi-platform competition for news organizations and reporters in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and New Mexico.

I'm a New England native currently based in Denver, Colorado with a little bit of Chicago and Washington, D.C. in my rearview. When I'm not glued to my laptop—and, sometimes, even when I am—you can find me exploring the mountains with my family, chasing down a killer sunset, or soaking up the salty air on a beach somewhere.
